The group comprises of Solicitors, Accountants, Loans, Property buy to lets, Marketing and Design Agency and Guest house.

POSITION PURPOSE

  • To provide thoughtful leadership and influence on executive level decision making through analytical insight into core business decisions
  • To structure and communicate complex, ambiguous, and potentially challenging business issues to advise and challenge the leadership team
  • To create and implement Kidwells financial strategy, plan and roadmap for growth
  • To develop and setup appropriate KPI’s for performance measurement.
  • To take responsibility for the daily operation of Kidwells accounting and financial functions and for significant contributions to the formulation, implementation, and administration of finance related policies and goals
  • To leverage technology and data analytics to assess future trends to help shape and drive business growth
  • To ensure sufficient information is available to allow the Board and Executive teams to monitor performance against financial targets
  • To ensure Kidwells remains financially viable long term
  • To meet the requirements of all finance related statutory requirements
  • To ensure key Financial and Strategic risks are identified and managed effectively

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Developing and implementing internal accounting and financial controls as necessary to preserve and build Kidwells assets
  • Financial analysis of commercial opportunities/markets and advising on investment decisions
  • Using commercial acumen to drive and develop financial performance and strategy across Kidwell’s operations
  • Ensure Group taxation minimised.
  • To contribute as a member of the leadership team on Financial matters
  • Responsible for presenting and reporting accurate and timely historical financial information of Kidwells
  • Oversees Kidwell’s bank accounts, and payments of suppliers/vendors
  • Establishes and maintains a comprehensive accounting system and prepares related reports.
  • Ensure that financial performance is monitored within a robust framework of key performance indicators and that effective systems are in place to measure success and identify potential areas of concern, taking prompt remedial action where necessary
  • To lead and direct the development and maintenance of effective financial internal and external control processes which embrace best value policies and procedures and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements to ensure effective control and protection of Kidwell’s assets and liabilities
  • Oversees preparation of monthly, annual, and other financial reports and statements as required
  • Co-ordinates internal and external audits of Kidwell’s financial statements
  • Ensures that statutory filings and payments are accurate and timely
  • Performs accounting and financial analysis and oversees the preparation and compilation of budgets and financial reports
  • Establishes and maintains internal accounting controls and oversees preparation and submission of statutory filings
  • Participates in developing policies and procedures and ensures that they support and complement
  • Conducts periodic reviews of existing policies to ensure effectiveness; ensures that policies are updated and are in accordance with evolving regulations, legal requirements, and industry trends

Supervision of assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance:

  • Provides leadership through effective goal setting, delegation, and communication
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to ensure that personnel are well informed of changes in programs, policies, and procedures
  • Selects, trains, coaches and directs area personnel; provides assistance and support as needed
  • Conducts performance appraisals and provides measurable feedback to accounting personnel and suggestions for improved performance
  • Formulates and implements employee corrective actions as needed

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

  • Financial and accounting statements, records, and reports are accurate and timely
  • Financial and accounting functions are conducted in accordance with established principles standards, and legal requirements. Procedures and policies are modified and updated as required
  • KPI’s are relevant, accurate and reported in a timely manner.
  • Good co-ordination and effective working relations exist between group companies.
  • Finance Personnel are effective and efficient

KEY PERSONAL CRITERIA

Education / Certification

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA) and demonstrable evidence of continuous professional development
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field or equivalent work experience, CPA, CMA, or MBA

Required Knowledge

  • Investment and Fund Raising, Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Taxation
  • Technical expertise in all aspects in all aspects of finance and accounts, including IFRS and IAS with regular updates according to relevant changes in regulations
  • Excellent knowledge of Financial modelling systems; computer systems; and accounting packages
  • Knowledge of data protection legislation requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial framework and regulatory context for Solicitors.

Experience

  • Broad experience in senior roles managing and developing a finance function
  • Extensive financial and management accounting experience including strategic data analysis, understanding and applying financial regulations and long term financial planning and cash flow management, optimisation of Group company taxation.
  • Experience of working with Boards of Executive and Non-Executive Directors, including non-specialists, providing them with support, training and guidance on financial and other corporate services functions
  • Comprehensive understanding of strategic and financial risks facing companies; can stress-test the key risks, complete sensitivity analysis and identify effective mitigation plans for Board
